Phones in the Tecno Camon 20 series have already appeared in leaks. Renders of the Camon 20 Pro and the Camon 20 Premier 5G popped up not too long ago while also revealing some of their hardware attributes. Tipster Paras Guglani has now shared a teaser of the Tecno Camon 20 lineup, adding that the series will debut in May.

The company’s last Camon series smartphone, the Camon 19 series, was unveiled in June last year. So if Guglani’s tip is accurate, Tecno is looking to unveil its upcoming mid-tier phone lineup a month in advance.

Unlike the majority of the smartphone market, Tecno follows an unconventional branding strategy. For instance, the company released the Camon 18 series in October 2021, followed by the Camon 19 lineup in June 2022. With no refresh coming in December 2022, the company is now gearing up for the release of the Camon 20 range of phones.

According to a recent leak, the Camon 20 Premier 5G will feature a 6.x-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Up to 256GB of expandable storage is rumoured, along with 8GB of RAM and the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC.

The Tecno Camon Premier 5G is expected to pack a triple camera system, bringing together a 108-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a macro sensor of unknown size. We’ve further learned that the Camon 20 Premier will go on sale in Black, Blue, and Pink colourways at launch.

Meanwhile, the Camon 20 Pro 4G is a cheaper alternative to its Premier sibling, offering a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution. The MediaTek Helio G99 chipset is rumoured to be powering the device, while storage/RAM is likely to be capped at 256GB/8GB.

A 32-megapixel front camera could be on board the Camon 20 Pro 4G, while the back panel includes two camera sensors — 64-megapixel and 2-megapixel — in addition to an AI lens. Capping off the specs sheet is a 5,000mAh battery and Android 13 with HiOS 13 UI overlay.
