Meta has been announcing various new features recently for WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s new Broadcast Channels features have recently been spotted in WhatsApp Beta. It was also caught testing animated emojis and new emojis and admin approval for groups.

WABetaInfo has spotted the new feature of transferring WhatsApp chats from one phone to another without using Google Drive on Android’s latest WhatsApp beta version. Android users can get this feature on WhatsApp for the Beta version 2.23.9.19 update on Play Store. Take a look at the screenshot WABetaInfo posted:

As you can see from the above screenshot, the Chat Transfer feature in the Chats option in WhatsApp will show the new “Transfer chat history to Android phone” page. It also mentions, “Transfer your chat history privately and have your most up-to-date messages without using Google Drive. Certain device permissions are needed to connect to your new device.”

If we click the Start button, the phone will show a QR code which has to be scanned by the other phone. The transfer should happen via Wi-Fi. And the new device would require many device permissions to make the transfer.

While this feature is now available for WhatsApp Beta users for Android, we can expect it to soon bring the feature to the stable version of Android.
