Spotify is finally hiking the prices of its premium subscription for the first time since the service has introduced premium plans.
Spotify has announced this change via a blog post, confirming the rumours that started to appear recently.
The new pricing for Spotify in the US is as follows:
|Plan||Old Price||New Price|
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Costa Rica
- United Kingdom
- Hong Kong
- North Macedonia
- New Zealand
- San Marino
- United States
The new pricing is reflected on the signup pages of the above-mentioned countries.
While India is not included in this initial list, we can expect a price hike soon too.
Even though the price was increased, Spotify hasn’t revealed when it plans to launch Spotify Hi-fi, it’s alternative to Apple Music’s lossless audio feature.
Spotify is the latest music streaming service to hike its price after YouTube, which also announced its price hike, which saw an increase of $2, which upped the prices to $13.99/month. Not only that, Netflix started banning password sharing in India recently. Streaming services are hiking the prices one by one, becoming a headache for many users.
