The OnePlus Open is expected to arrive with a 7.82-inch inner foldable display that offers a 2K resolution. On the other hand, it will have a 6.31-inch FHD+ cover screen. Both AMOLED panels will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is said to feature a side-facing fingerprint sensor.

The device could be equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera and a 20-megapixel internal camera. The rear camera setup of the device may feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera with 3x zoom and OIS support.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Open will have the 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is expected to arrive with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB / 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The foldable phone will run on a foldable-optimised edition of the OxygenOS 13.1-based Android 13. It will have a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.

OnePlus Open launch timeframe

An earlier leak claimed the OnePlus Open was set to be revealed on August 29th, 2023. Nevertheless, a recent post by Jambor revealed that its launch has been postponed. It now appears that the device will be announced at some point in September. The delay is said to result from Samsung’s display panels instead of the company’s original decision to employ BOE screens.
