In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Josh Simon, Netflix’s VP of Consumer Products disclosed the company’s intentions. Netflix House stores will be designed as thematic destinations, akin to mini Disneyland experiences. Visitors can expect to enjoy themed foods, browse and purchase merchandise from popular Netflix shows, and potentially even participate in real-life versions of scenes inspired by hit series like “Squid Game.”

While specific details about the stores remain limited, the streaming giant is actively scouting for suitable locations to kickstart this project. The company plans to open two US Netflix House venues by 2025. Their success will determine the scale of Netflix’s global expansion in the future.

“We’ve seen how much fans love to immerse themselves in the world of our movies and TV shows, and we’ve been thinking a lot about how we take that to the next level,” explained Simon. Netflix has previously experimented with pop-up experiences, such as themed events for “Stranger Things,” a Money Heist-themed escape room, and even a Bridgerton-inspired ballroom dance event.

Earlier this year, Netflix introduced “Netflix Bites” in Los Angeles, a pop-up eatery offering dishes inspired by its original shows. Although the restaurant has since closed, it is speculated that this culinary experiment served as a precursor to Netflix House.

The Netflix House marks a significant expansion of Netflix’s brand beyond its core streaming services, in a bid to maximize their dwindling revenue streams.
