How did the season 4 of Shadow and Bone wrap up?

Let’s have a quick recap of how season 4 of Shadow and Bone ended. However, if you are yet to finish the series, you might want to steer away. If you are still feeling curious, remember how Alina took down the Shadow Fold by doing something drastic to Mal, her third amplifier? Don’t worry, she brought him back to life using some risky merzost, breaking her promise never to go dark (remember Baghra’s warning?).

Then, Alina faced off with The Darkling, or General Kirigan, and sent him packing to the afterlife. His final request? “Alina, make sure there’s nothing left of me. Pretty please.” Talk about intense! However, here’s the kicker: Nikolai, our cool prince, got hit with some unexpected black magic after tangling with one of Darkling’s shadow monsters. Patrick Gibson spilled the beans, saying, “After being impaled, there’s definitely some black magic gone into him.”

In the big finale, Kaz spilled the beans about a new weapon called jurda parem, claiming it’s worse than dealing with the Shadow Fold. He warned that if the Fjerdans get their hands on it, things would go haywire. Just when you thought it was all over at Nikolai’s coronation, a drugged-up Fjerdan lady caused chaos. Alina stepped in with a dark move, the Cut, ending the madness and leaving us with a mysterious smile.
