Ted Lasso Season 4: Release date, where to watch, and everything we know so far

Prepend to the content

Ted Lasso has become one of the most popular and iconic web series in recent years. The Emmy-winning comedy series has won hearts around the world with its witty humour, great character development, and emotional connect with audiences. While the first three seasons have proved to be massively popular, there has been no official word about the Ted Lasso Season 4. As the ending of Season 3 showed Ted Lasso’s farewell from AFC Richmond, there has been speculation doing the rounds that the series has come to an end. However, a new development has sent the fans into a frenzy.

Is Ted Lasso Season 4 happening?

Nick Mohammed, who plays the role of Nate in Ted Lasso, tweeted recently saying, “One year to the day since #TedLasso wrapped. And one year to the day that I accidentally posted this spoiler of Nate in AFC Richmond kit! Promise it won’t happen again on season 4- now wait.” As this is the first mention of the next season from a cast member, this tweet suggests that the Ted Lasso story might not have seen its conclusion just yet.

There is also speculation doing rounds that Jason Sudeikis might not return for the next season of the show, which will admittedly be quite weird considering that the show is named after his character. While we now have every reason to believe that Ted Lasso Season 4 is happening, we will have to cross our fingers, for now, to hope that Jason Sudeikis will also make a return as the American manager of the British Premier League football club, even if not in the same capacity.

Ted Lasso: Story so far

Ted Lasso is the story of a man with the titular name, played brilliantly by Jason Sudeikis, an American football coach who moves from the US to the UK to assume the role of British football club AFC Richmond after being spotted by Rebecca Welton who initially wanted to sabotage the team by hiring someone non-experienced and embarrass her ex-husband, Rupert Mannion, who previously owned the team. While being inexperienced at the sport, Lasso brings together the individuals in the team to become a united squad that eventually achieves great success. The show primarily deals with the journey of the team members but also delves into the personal lives of Lasso, Welton, and the team/training staff members’ personal lives to add character depth. The themes explored in the show include kindness and optimism, the importance of empathy, the value of teamwork and collaboration, the role of forgiveness and personal growth, and the beauty of diversity and inclusion. As Ted Lasso stepped away from the football club at the end of last season, in Season 4, we can see the focus of the show shift more towards other characters. However, as the show’s name is still Ted Lasso, we could see Jason Sudeikis’ character make a return in some way or the other. For now, we will have to wait and see.

Ted Lasso: Trailer or leaked footage
