Prepend to the content

Demon Slayer season 4 was confirmed earlier this year in June. This will be the ‘Hashira Training Arc’ where we’ll see Tanjiro start his Hashira training as they prepare to face off Muzan Kibutsuji. Demon Slayer season 4 will pick up from the Swordsmith Village Arc where we saw two Hashiras, Muichiro Tokito, and Mitsuri Kanroji, fight against two Upper Rank demons alongside Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya.

If you’re already a fan of Demon Slayer or just got into the fanbase, you probably have a lot of questions about season 4. Here, we’ll talk about the expected release dates, what to expect, and everything else we know about Demon Slayer season 4.

Demon Slayer season 4: Release date (expected)

The release date for Demon Slayer season 4 hasn’t been announced yet, so there’s only speculation for now. We can make guesses, though, based on the airing timelines of the previous seasons. Demon Slayer season 3 aired on April 9th this year and continued until June 18th. The first season too premiered in April, but the Mugen Train movie and the second season started streaming in October.

Going by this timeline, we can expect the Demon Slayer season release date to fall in either April 2024 or October 2024. This is just speculation, though and not to be considered as the final release date.

Demon Slayer season 4: First teaser

So far, only a teaser for Demon Slayer season 4 has been released. There isn’t much that we get from the teaser but it does give us a preview of all the Hashiras that will be involved with Tanjiro’s training. This includes Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji and Tengen Uzui.

Demon Slayer season 4: What to expect?

Demon Slayer season 4 will cover the Hashira Training Arc with a focus on Tanjiro training to become a Hashira, the highest level among the Demon Slayer Corps. For those who haven’t read the manga, we can give a glimpse of what to expect from Demon Slayer season 4. Here, we’ll see Tanjiro meeting the Stone Hashira, Himejima, who will train and prepare him for the upcoming battles.

But it’s not going to be a smooth sailing ride for Tanjiro as he has to go through rigorous training and earn Himejima’s approval. We can also expect the other Hashiras to help with Tanjiro’s training. On the other side of things, Muzan is in search of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki, leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. Muzan is joined by the new Upper Rank 4, Nakime. We’re expecting to see more of Nezuko and her new powers as well.

Demon Slayer season 4: Manga chapters

Demon Slayer season 3 ended with chapter 127 of the manga. Demon Slayer season 4 will continue from chapters 128 to 136 of the manga. Based on the number of chapters, this would be a fairly shorter season as compared to the previous ones.

Demon Slayer season 4: How to watch online

The first three seasons of Demon Slayer and the Mugen Train movie are available to stream on Netflix. You can also watch Demon Slayer on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Season 4 is expected to be released on streaming platforms soon after its debut.

Demon Slayer season vs arc confusion

Anime TV adaptations can get confusing when you try to categorize them by seasons. It’s usually identified by arcs, chapters and volumes. With Demon Slayer, there might be this confusion of the last season being season 4 since there have been four releases so far. But since the Mugen Train Arc was released as a movie, the upcoming one would technically be the fourth season.

So the series lineup follows like this — Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc (Season 1), Mugen Train Arc (Movie), Entertainment District Arc (Season 2), Swordsmith Village Arc (Season 3, and Hashira Training Arc (Season 4).
