Solo Leveling Anime Plot and Story

Solo Leveling is based on the best-selling Korean web novel of the same name (Only I Level Up: alternate translation) written by Chugong. This was later adapted into a webtoon and manhwa in 2018. It has since become one of the most popular Korean manhwas to date. The story focuses on Sung Jinwoo, who is known as the world’s weakest Hunter. Here, Hunters are human warriors with supernatural abilities who protect mankind by fighting against monsters.

Sung’s journey begins with being extremely weak, but just as he’s on the brink of death in a dungeon, he gets a “second awakening”. Sung is met with an AI known as the “System”, through which he gets the ability to level, something other Hunters don’t possess. The story continues with Sung’s journey as he levels up while fighting the deadly monsters.
