The movie It Ends With Us has a new release date! Sony Pictures has pushed the release date from a pre-Valentine’s Day weekend release to this summer.  The movie is based on a romance novel published on August 2, 2016. It was written by Colleen Hoover and published by Atria Books. The book is based on the relationship between her mother and father with Hoover describing it as “the hardest book I’ve ever written.” Hoover is also known for her novels Verity and Ugly Love. In 2022, she wrote It Starts With Us which is a sequel to the 2016 novel.

The Colleen Hoover adaptation, originally scheduled for release on Feb. 9, will debut on June 21, 2024.

It Ends With Us Storyline – What’s the plot? 

The novel by Colleen Hoover follows the life of a main character named Lily Bloom. This story follows Lily as she grapples with the realization that her relationship with Ryle Kinkaid may not be as perfect as it seems. The protagonist did not have an easy life growing up in an abusive household, but she never gave up, working hard every day to have the life she envisioned. She then graduates and moves to a new city to start afresh. She meets Ryle and starts to develop feelings for him. However, her first love, Atlas, reappears and complicates the relationship between Lily and Ryle. What ensues is a tale of love, loss, and generational trauma. The story is both heartbreaking and inspiring, revealing how those we love can hurt us the most. The book is recommended for readers aged 16 and up due to its mature themes and content.
