The protagonist did not have an easy life growing up in an abusive household, but she never gave up, working hard every day to have the life she envisioned. She then graduates and moves to a new city to start afresh. She meets Ryle and starts to develop feelings for him. However, her first love, Atlas, reappears and complicates the relationship between Lily and Ryle. What ensues is a tale of love, loss, and generational trauma. The story is both heartbreaking and inspiring, revealing how those we love can hurt us the most. The book is recommended for readers aged 16 and up due to its mature themes and content.
