With a screenplay written by Gregory Pierce, the movie is based on the same-name novel by Hannah Kent, published in 2013.

Set in Iceland in the year 1828, Burial Rites tells the story of a young woman accused of a violent murder. She awaits her execution on an isolated farm, where she lives with a modest family who initially fears her. There hasn’t been much news about Burial Rites since it was first announced in 2017. A potential premiere for Burial Rites could be scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025. However, nothing is specific as of yet. The renowned Italian film director and producer Luca Guadagnino was revealed to be the person in charge of directing the Burial Rites. TriStar Pictures, a Sony Pictures division, supposedly holds the film’s global distribution rights.

Jennifer Lawrence will reportedly star in another much-anticipated film: a biopic, Sue, based on the real-life Hollywood talent agent Sue Mengers. Mengers was a highly significant Hollywood agent who worked during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. She represented many famous actors and filmmakers during that period, including Barbara Streisand, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Steve McQueen, Burt Reynolds, and numerous other stars from that era.

Paolo Sorrentino and Morgan Spurlock serve as the film’s co-directors. Rebecca Angelo, Lauren Schuker Blum, and John Logan are said to be at the writing helm of the project. Jennifer Lawrence is said to have been cast in a remake of the classic 1955 film East of Eden. The story of East of Eden is deeply rooted in the religious allegory of Cain and Abel, as seen through the perspectives of two families, the Hamiltons and the Trasks. It is based on the novel of the same name by Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck. Lawrence will reportedly portray Cathy Ames, the wife of the main protagonist, Adam Trask, and the mother of two boys in the project written and directed by Gary Ross. Ross and Lawrence are expected to work together again, marking their reunion since the original Hunger Games, which Ross both wrote and directed.

Mob Girl is an actual crime genre film. Paolo Sorrentino is said to be at its directing helm. It has been reported that Jennifer Lawrence will take on the central role. She will essay Arlyne Brickman, the girlfriend of a notorious mobster. Arlyne’s life takes a dramatic turn when she decides to cooperate with the police and testify against the influential Colombo crime family.

Currently in pre-production (per reports), Mob Girl is a film adaptation of Teresa Carpenter’s real-crime story, Mob Girl: A Woman’s Life in the Underworld, published in 1992. Die, My Love is reportedly one more film of the actress currently in pre-production. During her interview in the Variety Lounge, Lynne Ramsay shared insights into her upcoming projects. One of these projects is “Die My Love,” a comedy according to Ramsay’s perspective, featuring Jennifer Lawrence. She revealed, “It’s about mental health…and the breakdown of a marriage. But it’s really  f—ing funny. At least, I think it’s funny. But I’m Glaswegian, so I have a really black sense of humor.” The film takes place in a secluded, overlooked countryside and tells the story of a mother’s harrowing battle with psychosis as she fights to preserve her sanity. The film is an adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s novel of the same name.
