Honor X9b to sport highly durable display, details confirmed

The Honor X9b is all set to launch on February 15th, 2024, in India. The smartphone was already launched last year in October in the global market, and now it is making its way to the Indian market. It will arrive as the second phone after the Honor 90 5G, which marked the resurrection of the Honor brand in India.

While the Honor 90 5G was priced at around Rs 30,000, it is speculated that the Honor X9b could be priced at around Rs 20,000. With around two weeks remaining for the launch, the company has started revealing its key features. Today, Htech has shared details on how durable the X9b’s display is.

Honor X9b durability features revealed

HONOR Ultra-Bounce Technology

According to HTech, the Honor X9b is the first in the industry to receive a five-star overall drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS, highlighting its readiness for unfavourable scenarios like accidental drops. The X9b is equipped with the so-called Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display, which ensures outstanding durability and stability on hard surfaces like marble, with a 360-degree drop resistance up to 1.5 meters.

The phone’s three-layer protective structure comprises partial reinforcement, surrounding buffer, and sealing protection to provide both drop and IP53-rated splash resistance. When it comes to eye comfort, the Honor X9b offers 1920Hz PWM dimming technology and hardware-level low-blue light, eliminating the risk of eye strain. Dynamic Dimming and Circadian Night Display contribute to reduced eye fatigue and better sleep quality during nighttime usage.

HTech has also confirmed that the Honor X9b will arrive with a 6.78-inch curved-edge AMOLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution, 429ppi pixel density, 10-bit colours, and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. It appears that the device will also feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Apart from the Honor X9b, the company is expected to announce a couple of new products. These include the Honor Choice X5 earbuds and the Honor Choice Watch. As per a leak by tipster Mukul Sharma, who has also shared the images of the smartwatch, it will have the Honor health companion app for seamless connectivity and a dedicated SOS call button feature.
