Motorola Rizr concept phone has been showcased at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 tech trade show. The new concept phone is based on the iconic Motorola Rizr Z3 slider phone, which was announced in 2006. The Rizr has now been brought back as a concept phone with a rollable screen.

While a functional Motorola Rizr is being displayed at MWC 2023, it is still in the concept stage. The Lenovo-owned company hasn’t confirmed the name of the device yet, but it’s said to be called the Rizr because it looks like it was modelled after the old Rizr Z3 feature phone.

Reports have shown that the 5-inch POLED screen on the Rizr concept phone has a 15:9 aspect ratio. Since it is a rollable screen, the display can expand to 6.5 inches, which allows it to offer an aspect ratio of 22:9. The unused display wraps around the bottom and slides up on the back when it is in its compact form. This way, the display portion available on the back can be used as a secondary screen.

The Rizr concept phone is said to be running on customized software by Motorola. The interface can automatically expand the display depending on the app being used. If the YouTube app is opened, the screen can automatically expand when it is held horizontally.

The Rizr concept has a 3,100mAh battery. The size of the battery is small since the major internal portion is occupied by a motor. It has other features like a selfie camera, a dual-camera setup on the back, a speaker grille, and some sensors. The device reportedly weighs around 210 grams.
