Like every year, consumers have been waiting for the launch of the new iPhones. Earlier this month, Apple showcased its iPhone 15 series at the Wanderlust event. At this event, four distinct models in the series, including the base iPhone 15 and the slightly larger iPhone 15 Plus, were launched. However, the real showstoppers were the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which belong to a premium tier above the base and Plus models. The event marked Apple’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology, with a strong emphasis on innovation, user experience and sustainability.

The consumer sentiment for the iPhone 15 series has been positive, and as per Counterpoint Research, consumers had to wait for 10 days to get their hands on the pre-ordered vanilla model of iPhone 15.
While there is significant interest in the base and the plus models, the Pro models, in particular, distinguish themselves through larger displays, superior camera capabilities, extended battery life, and use of titanium elements.
In terms of a complete offering, the iPhone 15 Pro is the best fit for value-conscious consumers. Here’s why:
1. Pro-Level Performance
The iPhone 15 Pro is powered by Apple’s A17 Pro Bionic chip, which is the most recent processor by Apple and claims to deliver blazing-fast performance but also provides enhanced AI capabilities, making the device more efficient and intelligent in managing tasks, from gaming to multitasking. In our time with the smartphone, we found the device to offer great performance. Whether we went full power mode or using it as a casual smartphone owner, the iPhone 15 Prol exceeded our performance expectations.
2. Premium Design and Build Quality
The iPhone 15 Pro maintains Apple’s iconic design language with a premium build. The company has swapped the stainless steel in favour of titanium this time and the result is a significant weight reduction, which makes it more pocketable and offers an improved in hand feel. Additionally, the phone exudes a luxurious. There are also striking colours available. While Orignial Titanium is much in demand, I prefer the Blue Titanium over the rest.
3. One hand usage
Since I don’t have extra large hands, I find the Pro size as opposed to the Pro Max size easier to handle and it is also better for one hand usage. For Pro Max, I need to stretch my fingers to reach to that corners, while one does get used to it eventually but given a choice I would like to stick to the 6.1-inch screen than a 6.7-inch one
4. Stunning Display
The iPhone 15 Pro boasts of an OLED screen with the 120Hz refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth animations and scrolling, making the user experience incredibly enjoyable. It also offers very bright 2,000nit peak brightness that enabled me to use the phone without any hassle even in harsh sunlight conditions. HDR content looks spectacular on this display, with deep blacks and vibrant colours. While some people may want to opt for a larger screen but in my usage, the Pro’s display is ideal for watching content on OTT and gaming.
5. Long-Lasting Battery Life
While some may argue that the iPhone Pro Max comes with a bigger battery, which is indeed the case, in my usage, I was able to drive enough juice from the Pro model as well. I am a heavy user that get a lot of work done via the phone, including editing copies on the fly. Despite this, the phone could easily last me a day and sometimes a little more. The only thing i miss on these phones is fast charging, which is also true for the Pro models
6 Impressive Camera System
Apple has made significant advancements in the iPhone 15 Pro’s camera system. It features a triple-lens setup (48-MP main, 12-MP Ultrawide and 12-MP telephoto) with a larger image sensor and improved Night mode. The Pro Max model offer the same camera hardware but there are a few tweaks that are available on it such as 25X optical zoom as opposed to 15X on Pro but in a day to day usage, I did not miss these features as much.
7. Base variant and pricing
iPhone 15 Pro is available starting Rs 1,34,900 for the 128GB, while for the iPhone Pro Max there is no 128GB variant available. The base variant is 256GB which costs Rs 1,59,900.00. I have been using a 128GB variant earlier and for my needs that is sufficient. I already have subscription to Google One (which costs me about Rs. 1,300 a year) so I don’t mind backing my videos and photos on the cloud and freeing up the real estate on the device.
In conclusion, the iPhone 15 Pro is the ultimate choice in the iPhone 15 series due to its exceptional performance, camera capabilities, stunning display, premium design, long-lasting battery and seamless ecosystem integration. It caters to a wide range of users, from tech enthusiasts to creative professionals, and its combination of features and quality make it a wise investment. Moreover, it is available at Rs 1,34,900 for the 128GB variant) as opposed to Rs 1,59,900 that you will have to shell out for Pro Max. iPhone 15 Pro Max is a great choice for people looking for a bigger display and battery but I find iPhone 15 Pro to be a more practical choice.
